As the Premier Soccer League season comes to a close, football will take a break until the highly-anticipated 2017 Carling Black Label Champion Cup (CBL) featuring Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates at FNB Stadium on Saturday, 29 July.
If you were not aware – the 2016 CBL edition at FNB Stadium has been nominated in the Fan Experience of the Year category in the 2017 Stadium Business Awards that will take place in Dublin, Republic of Ireland on Thursday, 22 June.
Thank you all for casting your votes and pledging your support to this event competing against other top international acts from Great Britain and the United States.
And what a successful event it was as the premier South African competition that was a concept between Stadium Management SA, Carling Black Label (SA Breweries) and MSport Marketing continues to grow. It is the biggest sporting showpiece on the southern hemisphere after all!
We are proud to have also brought rugby back to the Soweto community as we will be hosting the Premier Social Cohesion games at Orlando Stadium through a corroborative effort between SA Rugby, the Gauteng Provincial government and ourselves.
Still on rewards that continue to come our way as Stadium Management SA gains further international recognition for business quality and excellence – we have been awarded the International Arch of Europe (IAE) as well as The Bizz Award that we will go and collect in Germany and the United States, respectively, in June and July.
Stadium Management SA was also a networking partner and sponsor at the Stadium World Congress in Doha, Qatar, in May in an event that was attended by world stadium sporting and music figures.
More than anything, this is just fantastic news for each of the 47 staff members who have stuck to the company mission of producing excellent service and top attractions to facilities under our management.
I always thank our stakeholders that continue working closely with us. The City of Johannesburg, Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, the Premier Soccer League, SAIL, Big Concerts, the media and all of the service providers.
We were proud to announce the Justin Bieber Purpose World Tour, which received great public interest when it took place at FNB Stadium on Sunday, 14 May.
There are a number of international acts and events coming this way this year and in 2018 through our partnership with Big Concerts. The adrenalin-pumping Nitro Circus Live is coming through to the Calabash again on 28 October with positive responses after the announcement.
Top local artists, religious activities and corporate functions are also on the bill. Look out for further confirmations that will be made available soon.
Please continue supporting acts and events that we bring to your doors. Don’t forget to continue giving us your feedback and views on firstname.lastname@example.org .
Until we speak again soon.
