Stadium Management SA (Pty) Limited garnered more top achievements with nominations in the Stadium Business Awards as well as second recognition for the Impumelelo Top Empowered company for the second time in two years.

With the continued success of the innovative Carling Black Label Champion Cup, the sold-out 2016 edition is nominated in the Fan Experience of the Year accolade with the Stadium Business Awards set for Dublin, Ireland on 22 June 2017.

The ever popular fixture between Soweto giants, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, played at FNB Stadium is a highlight on the South African calendar and recognised as the traditional season opener.

For this international category, the world-class Calabash is competing with Touchpoint-driven Red Thread Team at Anfield (Liverpool FC), Safe Standing / Rail Seating at Celtic Park (Celtic FC), Matchday at Etihad Stadium (Manchester City FC, all United Kingdom); Integrated fan experience at Golden 1 Center (Sacramento Kings) and the Fan Engagement Platforms at Vivint Smart Home Arena (Utah Jazz/Vivint/Boingo) both from the United States.

The Top Empowered recognition is awarded to an organisation with empowerment credentials and financial performance with companies assessed on the seven pillars set out by the Department of South African government Trade and Industry, namely: Management, Skills Development, Enterprise development and Supplier Development, Social economic development and Ownership.

Stadium Management SA (SMSA) was first given this accolade in 2015 as the company’s contribution towards the surrounding communities under the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan umbrella gets noted yet again.
