A letter from the chairman, Jacques Grobbelaar, regarding the postponement of the INSEA Summit.
Dear Valued Member,
We would like to toke this opportunity to thank you for your interest and commitment to INSEA and our association.
As you might be aware many role-players in the sporting industry are involved in a parliamentary engagement related to the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (/CASA). The Parliamentary Portfolio Committee recently scheduled this urgent meeting for the same date reserved for the upcoming Stadium Sustainability and Venue Readiness Summit due to take place between 8 and 10 May 2018.
It was brought to our attention that some of our esteemed speakers, members, guests and invitees are involved with this parliamentary obligation. We were subsequently requested to consider an alternative date for the summit in view of this special circumstances.
After careful consideration and taken into account and the interest shown by numerous event owners and/or event organizers for guidance in topics such as public liability, change in leadership, ethics in leadership, commercialization, business models, youth development and legal aspects in the planning and execution events which fall under the auspices of the Safety at Sport and Recreational Events Act, 2 of 2010, we took the decision to postpone the summit.
As soon as we are in a position to find an alternative date in the year planning of the various sporting codes you will be notified of the alternative date.
Please accept our humble apologies for any inconvenience caused.
