Stadium Management South Africa is proud to announce that the FNB Stadium will host the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier between South Africa and Ethiopia on the 12th of October.

Bafana Bafana will look to maintain their lead at the top of group G when they play Ethiopia in a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the FNB Stadium on the 12th of October.

South Africa lead the group with four points from two matches played and they will take confidence into this match.

Bafana Bafana drew 0-0 with Zimbabwe in their opening 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier and they followed this up with a 1-0 victory against Ghana at the FNB Stadium on the 6th of September.

Ethiopia will also go in search of all three points during this match and they currently sit in third place in Group G with three points.

Ethiopia lost their opening Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup  qualifier 1-0 against Ghana, however they bounced back with a 1-0 victory over Zimbabwe.

Bafana Bafana and Ethiopia were in the same group for the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and on that occasion Bafana Bafana drew 1-1 with Ethiopia in South Africa and lost 2-1 in Addis Ababa.
